Our return flight from Paris to Dulles was half an hour late because of people from connecting flights. We arrived about 30 minutes late, but no big deal (unless you had a connection)”

Our bags did make it to Sioux Falls, so my wife didn’t have her prenatal vitamins, , we had no clean clothes and we were forced to spend the night in Atlanta. The saddest part of yet another terrible experience with Delta was that they offered us a “discounted” room at a terrible Howard Johnson for $72. I looked online and the same hotel was $65 to book on Kayak. So basically Delta was trying to scam us after they screwed us. Thanks Delta! Instead we paid $200+ to stay at an airport hotel. Every time I fly Delta I regret it, yet occasionally I get forced to take their awful airline to get somewhere I need to go. It never fails to add another bad Delta experience to my long list of failings from this SAD!!! airline.”

Cons: “We arrived 3.5 hours early and the line was very long. They must have had a system glitch but didn’t communicate to anyone in the line as to what was going on. When it did come time to board, they told everyone in the line that was going to Cincinnati that we couldn’t check in until 2 hours before the departure time. Apparently there were some other flights that left before us. If they had told us to keep our place in line and to let other people through, that wouldn’t have been a problem. But, they didn’t. Their own website says you should check baggage at least 2 hours before your flight and no more than 4 hours before. They took it upon themselves to change the rules on people who arrive early. Then, once they no longer had anyone else to check in, they changed their rules again and start checking in people for Cincinnati about 2.5 hours ahead of time. A little communication and brain power from the staff would have gone a long way. After all that mess, the flight was delayed leaving about 15 minutes without any updates from Allegiant either.”

Cons: “They might as well have thrown us in a car trunk the crew was very unaccommodating they didn’t really care about us and the room legroom is ridiculously smal. On the connecting flight, the last flight the plane was two thirds empty and the crew made us sit in our assigned seats, crammed together telling us that if we want to sit in a seat with more legroom we have to pay $180”

Pros: “The gate at the Chicago airport was well designed. There was a line for each boarding group, and you could line up early. This is particularly effective for some Asian flights, which can sometimes be chaotic with many different nationalities all lining up.”

Cons: “I was informed today that one of my checked bags was picked up by another customer who eventually realized it was not her bag. She brought it back to the airport and refused to turn over the bag until the airport compensated her. (How this happened I have no idea because I stood right by the entrance of the baggage claim and never saw the bag come out). The customer refused to return the bag until the police became involved at which point she agreed to write a note confirmed she did not steal anything. The bag then needs to be sent to me in 2 days and I’ll have to verify myself that indeed nothing was taken from the bag. I’m very concerned how this individual came to be in possession of my bag considering, again, I stood right at the entrance of the baggage claim conveyor belt from the time it started to when it ended. As a result, this experience really made me feel frustrated and violated.”

Cons: “Why not have people board the plane based on sat number? Why this cattle call and stand in line like you’re not going to get a seat? Everyone fighting for line position so they can get a place in the overhead bins? Stupid.”
