Hobie Mirage Passport Kayak: Tricked Out, Custom Rig for Offshore Fishing

Hobie Mirage Passport Kayak: Tricked Out, Custom Rig for Offshore Fishing

Let’s take a closer look at the Hobie Mirage Passport kayak in this overview. As the name implies, Hobie’s Passport series kayaks are designed to get around. The 12- and 10-foot Mirage Passport kayaks are thermoformed poly boats, a little bit lighter than rotomolded, which makes them easier to load and launch. Both models are built with recessed space beneath the hulls for the Mirage Drive GT Kick Up fins to fold completely up and out of the way—super handy for beach launches. Both models also nest snuggly with their respective sizes, which optimizes stacking for transport on a cart or storage. The one-hand operated Twist and Seal Hatch is a cool feature for dry storage access. Rod holders, gear tracks and breathable mesh seat are standard equipment on these very reasonably priced, sophisticated pedal-drive kayaks. Customization options include indents for adding Power Pole Micro, and transducer cavity for installing a fishfinder.
